Lifesaver Program

Background:

This program is designed to teach essential lifesaving skills to students in Grade 7 and above. It is available to students in Lambton County Schools and is presented by trained instructors of St. John Ambulance for the Lambton Safe Community Council.  The Lifesaver course introduces students to recognizing emergencies and increases awareness to safety issues.

Goal:

to have every Lambton County student, Grade 7 and above, learn First Aid

Specific Goal: To teach topics such as:

• Emergency Scene Management
• Shock
• How to help when someone is choking
• How to help when someone stops breathing
• How to help when someone is bleeding
• How to care for someone who has fainted
• What to do if poisoning occurs
• How to care for burns
• How to recognize anaphylactic emergencies
