1 in 7 young workers is injured on the job in Canada.  THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

Between 2001 and 2008, 573 young workers sustained critical injuries, and there were 27 fatalities in Ontario.    THESE NUMBERS MUST BE REDUCED! 

The majority of incidents occur in the services sector.  The Lambton Safe Community Council is working together with local employers, educators and parents to help our youth prepare for the workplace by providing FREE introductory safety training to youth. 

As a local employer of young workers, you can help by making completion of this training a mandatory requirement for employment with your business.  This model has been very successful in Sarnia-Lambton for contractor safety.
